Baptism has been described as the outward expression of one's inward faith in Christ.  It's the biblical way to show that we belong to Him.

Baptism is a very important and joyful step in our walk with Christ.  Understanding what God says about baptism will obviously make this step more meaningful.  So below are some verses to look up in the bible.

As important as baptism is, it is only a second step, after the first step of becoming a Christian.

ETERNAL LIFE IS GOD'S GIFT.  Do I believe this?  Yes  No

"the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord"   (Romans 6:23)

"by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God"   (Ephesians 2:8)

WE CANNOT EARN ETERNAL LIFE NOR DO WE DESERVE IT.  This is because we are sinners.  Have I admitted this?  Yes  No

"all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"   (Romans 3:23)

"all we like sheep have gone astray; each of us has turned to his own way"  (Isaiah 53:6)

"all our righteous deed are like filthy rags"   (Isaiah 64:6)

CHRIST TOOK CARE OF OUR SIN - through His death and resurrection.     Do I accept this?  Yes  No

"God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  while we were still sinners, Christ died for us"   (Romans 5:8)

"God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, Himself man, is between them to bring them together"   (1 Timothy 2:5)

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him"   (2 Corinthians 5:21)

WE MUST RECEIVE GOD'S GIFT BY TRUSTING CHRIST.                 Have I done this?  Yes  No

"But as many as received Him to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name"   (John 1:12)

If I were to die tonight, I know for sure that I would go to heaven.      Yes  No

If God were to ask me, "Why should I let you into my heaven?"           I would say:
