How You Can Know That You have Eternal Life

1.  Eternal life is God's gift.

"The free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23)

"By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8)

DO I BELIEVE THIS?

2.  We cannot earn eternal life nor do we deserve it - Because we are sinners.

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)

"All we like sheep have gone astray; each of us has turned to his own way" (Isaiah 53:6)

"All our righteous deeds are like filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6)

HAVE I ADMITTED THIS?

3.  Christ took care of our sin - Through His death and resurrection.

"God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)

"God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, Himself man, is between them to bring them together" (1 Timothy 2:5)

"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:12)

DO I ACCEPT THIS?

4.  We must receive God's gift by trusting Christ.

"But as many as received Him to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12)
